Kaitiakitanga is the Māori concept of guardianship of the natural environment. We embrace this as our guiding principle in regenerating natives, and caring for our land - as guardians rather than owners.
With regeneration, planting and solar power, Hares Hut is carbon positive.

Guest Reviews
"Such a lovely place. Immaculately clean and tidy, beautifully furnished and totally charming. Jill was a fantastic host and made us feel welcome and at home. She took my son to feed the chickens and visit the three week old chicks, and we loved having the horses and dogs around. Stunning scenery, completely silent at night and the stars were just incredible. We loved it here."

"An amazing stay in this adorable cottage! There is everything you need and even more; peacefulness to have a rest, a hill to climb if you wanna do exercise, and all the tools to cook... a truly worthy place to spend a few days. Thanks again Jill and Martin for having us in this heaven!"

"Can easily say this has been my best B&B experience. The cottage is gorgeous with beautiful attention to detail, and so many thoughtful touches that make you feel welcome - like fresh eggs. It feels very safe...our four year old loved interacting with the animals while I daydreamed that I was in Lord of the Rings. Absolute Magic!
